Our 100% soy wax candles are non-toxic and a better, more sustainable alternative to the many paraffin wax candles on the market.

We chose 100% soy wax for our candles because soy wax is the most environmentally friendly option. Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource that is biodegradable and cleans up with just soap and water. Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax and will burn slower or longer than paraffin candles with zero petro soot. It's a win win for the environment and YOU, the end user, who will benefit from the longer burn time.

Soy wax is vegan! Many popular candle brands on the market are made with beeswax, contain animal derived emulsifiers, or are paraffin wax based (bad for people, animals and the environment).SKO candles are 100% vegan and do not require any animal products in their production or use.

Our soy wax is made from USA grown soybeans. In fact, Indiana is the 4th largest soybean producer in the USA so by purchasing a soy candle, you are supporting the local farmers in YOUR community. 

All our SKO Soy Candles are 100% phthalate free too. Phthalates or phthalate esters, are esters of Phthalic acid. They are used to dissolve raw materials when making fragrance oils. They have been used for many decades in a myriad of pharmaceuticals, household (toys, vinyl flooring and wall covering, detergents, lubricating oils, food packaging, and personal care products, such as nail polish, hair sprays, aftershave lotions, soaps, shampoos, perfumes and CANDLES).

Recently, there have been concerns that high levels of Phthalates can cause a host of health issues. It is not clear whether the levels that people encounter cause adverse effects, but it is clear that products would be better if they didn’t pose any such risks.
